welcome,
I'm Nicole!
Thanks for checking out my corner of the internet. I’m thrilled you are here!
When I became a mom, I thought I was so prepared. I read all the books and all the blogs, took the hospital classes, and interviewed the pediatricians. I quickly realized nothing could prepare me for the real-life, beautiful disaster that became my life in the last four years.
Then, I found support, and it changed everything. Don’t get me wrong, our home is still a circus featuring three adorable toddler tornadoes, BUT I have a space where I feel validated in my challenges and empowered by the genuine empathy of my support system.
Authentically Imperfect Mama is my passion project, born out of my desire to help other women navigate this insane journey of modern motherhood. Every mom deserves the village we’ve been promised!
I can’t wait to connect!
I attended my first mom's group when my twins were three months old and my oldest was two.
Within the first five minutes, I knew I had made the right decision, and things have shifted for me since then.
I was barely hanging on, sleep-deprived, consumed with grief after the recent loss of my brother, had severe PPD, and had completely lost myself to the demands of motherhood.
Modern motherhood is a trip. It’s the most rewarding, joy-filled, humbling, demanding, and emotionally intense human experience. We are constantly being pulled in different directions, given contradictory advice, and overwhelmed by the number of decisions and tasks on our list. It is lonely, heart-breaking, fulfilling, life-altering, and freaking hard all at once! And you know who gets it? Other moms!
I was inspired to start Authentically Imperfect Mama after connecting with other moms and FINALLY feeling heard, understood, and supported. Our journeys to motherhood were so unique, but we quickly found that our struggles, inner voices, fears, rants, and worries were almost universal. We let go of the idea that you could be the perfect mom, we dropped all pretenses, and for one hour a week, we felt completely safe in our mom group bubble.
I want that for you too, Mama! Motherhood isn’t meant to be a solo gig, yet many feel lost, alone, and overwhelmed. Let’s face it: you don’t have much free time, you’re busy, and mom-friend dating sounds exhausting!
Enter Authentically Imperfect Mama! We’re here to provide support through whichever season of motherhood you are in and connect you with other moms who are right there with you.
Three Things About Me...
one
I had the immense pleasure of studying under Dr. Sophie Brock, a renowned Motherhood Studies sociologist. I became a Certified Motherhood Studies Practitioner in December 2024.
two
I am a former educator, having taught middle school science for twelve years. My favorite subject to teach is the Periodic Table because I love how organized it is and how every element has a specific place 🙂
three
I’m an audiobook addict. In my pre-kid days, I loved to read but have since made the switch to audiobooks so I can squeeze it in anytime. Doing chores? Audiobook. School dropoff? Audiobook.
I want to feature you!
